Dune Medical Devices specializes in real-time tissue characterization devices. The capacity of these devices, to characterize tissue in real-time, is aimed at complete therapeutic excisions. Dune's devices are designed to detect tumor margins during surgical oncology and endoscopic procedures. The goal of Dune's devices is to provide surgeons and endoscopists accurate pathological tissue status, in real time, so that painful and costly open procedures can be avoided and clinical outcomes can be improved.
Dune's technology is undergoing testing in a variety of applications, including: breast, esophagus, colon, and
lung cancers. Dune's first fully developed product, the MarginProbe™ is a hand-held cancer probe and console system aimed at the breast cancer market. |
