It has been an amazing year thus far for the Dilon team. I am excited to share a recap of the highlights and outline what’s to come in our ongoing journey to answer the question – “Did we get it all?” – for breast conserving surgery patients. The milestones we have hit thus far as well as the ones to come will continue to drive our mission of making RF Spectroscopy the standard of care in intraoperative margin assessment.
We are excited to share that Dune has been selected as one of the few recipients of a European Union Horizon 2020 research grant to spur development of our biopsy system. The announcement earned coverage in both MassDevice and Medcity News.
“This three million euro grant will expedite bringing our soft tissue biopsy system to the market,” says Dan Hashimshony, CEO and Founder of Dilon. This grant serves as a catalyst for further innovation and product development.”

Latest surgeon spotlight – Dr. Melanie Friedlander, South Bay Surgeons
There is a new surgeon spotlight available on the website. Dr. Melanie Friedlander shares her experiences with MarginProbe and how the device has changed the way her practice performs lumpectomies.
“There’s really no downside,” explained Dr. Friedlander. “Using MarginProbe is a perfectly safe thing to do. It doesn’t affect your complication rate in any way, shape, or form. From a surgeon’s perspective, why wouldn’t you want more information?” Read the full spotlight here.
Increasing our reach!
With more than 9,600 total probes sold we are nearing the 10,000 probe milestone! We are currently averaging 376 probes sold each month and are projected to reach our 10k goal in early October: just in time for Breast Cancer Awareness month.
